Mira Fernandes - Portugal

Degree an doctorate in mathematics in Coimbra, Aureliano Mira Fernandes has been  prominent in tensor calculus applied to Differential Geometry and Relativity. He had published dozens of papers in these areas.
The €0.30 portuguese stamp, was released along with other figures of Portuguese History and Culture, on the 50th anniversary of his death in April 2008.
